According to the US government it was Sunni muslims that carried out the 9/11 attacks. Saudi Arabia [Bush investments], Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Kuwait are a Sunni Muslim majority.
To dig for 9/11 research a good starting point is america2.htm.

Before Bush's Iraq wars that are lasting longer than World War II, Iraq and Iran were a Shia Muslim majority that threatened the security of Israel and had plenty of oil they wanted to sale at lower prices. The Iraq wars made oil prices skyrocket and American oil companies earn record breaking profits, has increased terrorism and its training as warned by many experts, while Iran elected Ahmadinejad as president in the year 2005.

The war in Iraq has depleted the manpower and the equipment inventory of the US military and National Guard that would potentially hamper its response to emergencies in the USA homeland.

Homeland Security Operations Morning Brief (HSOMB) goes out to state and local emergency management, also federal emergency management or law enforcement entities that are involved in counter-terrorism activities. It is pieces of information about suspicious activity that has occurred.

You can no longer find updates because it is censored from search engines and kept from public access. It is FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY (FOUO), which means it is unclassified information they do not want the public to know. But it would be helpful information for the public to know.

Government Censorship

The Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and Homeland Security Operations Center (HSOC) watch critical infrastructure (CI) to disseminate advisories on demand when significant information becomes available within the daily publishing cycle.

Intelligence products provide critical information that is unclassified for wide consumption by state, local, and tribal law enforcement (SLTLE). The FBI Office of Intelligence has developed two threat-based joint intelligence products and a third product known as the Intelligence Information Report. All of these products may be accessed by law enforcement at all levels of government:
* Intelligence Assessment: A comprehensive report on an intelligence issue related to criminal or national security threats within the service territory of an FBI Field Office. The assessment may be classified at any level or be unclassified depending on the nature of the information contained in the report. In most cases when the report is unclassified, it is Law Enforcement Sensitive.
* Intelligence Bulletin: A finished intelligence product in article format that describes new developments and evolving trends. The bulletins typically are Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) and available for distribution to state, local, and tribal law enforcement.
* Intelligence Information Report: Raw, unevaluated intelligence concerning perishable or time-limited information about criminal or national security issues. While the full IIR may be classified, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies will have access to SBU information in the report under the tear line.
An immediate source for FBI intelligence products is the Field Intelligence Group (FIG). In addition, SLTLE agencies are able to gain direct access to these reports by secure email through Law Enforcement Online (LEO), the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS), or the Joint Regional Information Exchange System (JREIS). When circumstances warrant, the FBI and DHS will produce an intelligence product jointly and disseminate it to the appropriate agencies. Al Qaeda Training Manual or Al Qaeda Training Manual

AL-QAIDA (AL-QAEDA): Led by Usama (Osama) bin Laden, prime suspect in the US attacks, who aims to drive Western forces out of Saudi Arabia, destroy Israel and end Western influence in the Muslim world.

The young men that joined al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan came from countries in the Islamic world and beyond: Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Bosnia, Bangladesh, China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Russia, Britain, Canada and the United States.

A brief synopsis of the research findings regarding what the terrorists may attempt to do:

Tactics of Terrorism:

Al-Qaida now is using rogue Web sites that are hard to find on the Net. Al-Qaida sites sometimes last for days, sometimes for minutes or hours. When Internet providers or governments find them, they are shut down. Then al-Qaida simply sets up a new site somewhere else.
